Grants for research students attending conferences in 2024

The London Centre for the Ancient Near East (LCANE),  has set aside a limited fund to meet the registration fees of two research students at British universities who have already registered or propose to register at academic conferences that are on subjects related to the ancient Near East and take place in the calendar year 2024.

Applicants are required to submit to the Chair of LCANE a CV and personal statement of not more than 200 words by Dec. 15th 2023, explaining the nature of their research projects and the reasons why they wish to attend the conference. Decisions will be made on the basis of the degree of overlap between the proposed research and the aims and objectives of LCANE.

Successful applicants will be notified of the award of grants by January 15th 2024. Grants will be conditional on attendance at the conference.

LCANE funds are available to cover the registration fee only. Registration for the conference is the responsibility of the applicant.

LCANE Grants 2019

The London Centre for the Ancient Near East (LCANE), acting for the British Association for Near Eastern Archaeology (BANEA), has set aside a limited fund to meet the registration fees of research students at British universities who have already registered or propose to register at academic conferences that are on subjects related to the ancient Near East and take place in the calendar year 2019.

Applicants are required to submit to the Chair of LCANE a CV and personal statement of not more than 200 words, explaining the nature of their research projects and the reasons why they wish to attend the conference. The deadline for submission is 5 December 2018.

Successful applicants will be notified of the award of grants by 20 December 2018. Grants will be conditional on attendance at the conference and will be disbursed after the conference has ended.

Applicants should already be student members of the British Association for Near Eastern Archaeology (BANEA), or should join on application (www.banea.org).

LCANE funds are available to cover the registration fee only. Registration for the conference is the responsibility of the applicant.
